Good Company Portland Service Guide
Everything you need to know!
Sometimes you just want someone to go with.
Portland is easy to love. Making new friends here can take a little longer.
Good Company is for people who want to get out and enjoy the city without waiting for everyone else’s schedules to line up.
Maybe your friends are busy. Maybe you’re new to town. Maybe your social circle has changed. Maybe no one you know wants to see the same exhibit, try the same restaurant, or take that walk with you.
Good Company offers warm, strictly platonic social connection for adults in Portland, someone to join you for coffee, explore the city, take a walk, see an exhibit, go to an event, or simply have a really good conversation.
Sometimes you simply want company.
Go do the thing. Bring good company.
Conversation & Coffee
Coffee, tea, lunch, dessert, or simply a relaxed place to sit and talk. Conversation can be light, funny, thoughtful, deep, or somewhere in between.
Out & About
Museums, galleries, bookstores, markets, shopping, restaurants, gardens, neighborhood exploring, creative events, festivals, or somewhere you’ve simply been wanting to visit.
Walk With Me
Neighborhood walks, parks, gardens, waterfront paths, nature trails, and gentle hikes, at whatever pace is comfortable for you.
Come Along
Concerts, lectures, exhibits, theater, performances, festivals, and other events you’d rather not attend alone.
Get-It-Done Company
I’ll keep you company and provide a little extra encouragement and momentum while you tackle errands, everyday tasks, or projects, either together out and about or virtually from home.
Let’s Make
Something
Grab a sketchbook, pick a craft, try a class, or come make something just for the fun of it.
We can draw outside, paint, collage, take a workshop, visit a creative studio, or try something neither of us has done before. No talent required. No pressure to be productive. No need for the finished result to be remotely frame-worthy.
How it works
1. You fill out a short intake form—a friendly one, not a medical questionnaire.
2. If it looks like a good fit, we meet for a complimentary coffee or tea.
3. If we both feel good about it, I send you the Client Services Agreement, Acknowledgment of Risk, and Limited Release of Liability. You read it, sign it, and send it back. This happens before any booking.
4. Once the signed agreement is back with me, you can propose an outing whenever you like.
5. I confirm that I’m available and that it’s a good fit, then send an invoice. The booking is confirmed once it’s paid.
6. We go and have a nice time.
The Client Services Agreement covers what this service is and isn’t. You’re welcome to take it home and read it with a family member, friend, or attorney first, no rush, and no pressure. The coffee meetup is free and comes first, so nothing is signed or booked until you’ve met me.
Free first meetup
Before your first booking, we’ll meet for coffee or tea in a public place for up to 45 minutes at no charge.
This is simply a chance to meet, talk, and see whether we’re a good fit.
There’s no pressure to book afterward. Compatibility matters on both sides.
Rates
How much?
$40 per hour
Two-hour minimum for in-person outings.
One-hour minimum for virtual body doubling.
Longer outings, evening events, and trips outside the immediate Portland area can be discussed individually. Any different rate is always agreed in advance.
Booking fee
Your booking fee covers my time and company, not a specific activity, so if plans change along the way, that’s completely fine—we can simply spend the rest of our booked time doing something else together.
Outing expenses
If an outing involves tickets, admission or activity fees, or a meal that’s part of the planned experience, you’ll cover those costs for both of us. Whenever practical, you’ll purchase tickets directly from the venue so its refund policy applies. I cover my own transportation and parking, and we’ll discuss expected expenses in advance so there are no surprises.
Booking and payment
Bookings can be requested online or by text.
Once I receive your request, I’ll review the details and confirm whether I’m available and whether the outing feels like a good fit.
After approval, I’ll send an invoice. Payment is due in advance to confirm the booking, and payments are processed through Square.
For a first booking, I also need your signed Client Services Agreement in hand before the booking is confirmed.
Cancellations and refunds
Plans change. I understand. In short:
Cancel 24 hours or more before the scheduled start time: full refund of the booking fee.
Cancel less than 24 hours before: 50% refund.
No-shows: no refund.
If you end a booking within the first 15 minutes and no expenses have been incurred: 50% refund, the same as a late cancellation.
If you end it after that point: no refund — the time was reserved for you and isn’t available to anyone else.
If I cancel: full refund.
If weather, air quality, a closure, or another circumstance outside our control gets in the way: I’ll offer to reschedule first, and a full refund if you’d rather not.
If I end an outing early for any reason other than serious conduct, the unused time is refunded
Everything above refers to the booking fee. Tickets, admissions, and meals follow the venue’s own refund policy.
Refunds go back to the original payment method and generally appear within 4 to 14 business days.
The full policy, including conduct-related endings, is in the Terms & Policies.
Transportation
I don’t provide transportation. We meet at the destination, and you arrange your own way there and back.
That keeps things simple, flexible, and comfortable for everyone.
Companionship, not care
Good Company is good company, not caregiving. You decide for yourself what activities suit you on any given day, and I’ll always plan around whatever pace works.
If you need support that includes trained caregiving, I’m glad to point you toward services that provide it.
Boundaries
Good Company is a strictly platonic service for adults.
It is not dating, romance, physical companionship, therapy, counseling, caregiving, medical assistance, housekeeping, transportation, or crisis support.
Initial meetings take place in public.
Every booking is considered individually. I reserve the right to decline or discontinue a booking if the situation, activity, or personal fit isn’t right.
Clients have the same right. If it doesn’t feel like a match, there’s no awkwardness and no obligation to continue.
